Superhero and Villains Make up Part 1

Hello!
I thought it would be a good idea to step outside of my 'make up comfort zone' and try something a little different. As a child, my brother was (and still is) into comic books of all sorts. He would often purchase comic books, movies, and I would have to say his favourite place in the world was Movieworld on the Gold Coast. He taught me about all the different characters of DC and Marvel and I thought I would choose a superhero or villain and transform into them! (With a little help from my make up collection :P) You're more than welcome to try these looks...I would mainly recommend them for Halloween and dress up parties. :)

Part 1 of the Superhero and Villains make up will be CATWOMAN (from Batman of course!) Catwoman is one of my favourite characters from the batman series and I thought this would be a good one to start off with as I actually went as her for a Halloween party.

There are two ways to achieve this look. I wore the same thing in both looks, but my eyes are different. Here is how the Halloween Catwoman turned out:
Eyes: Traditional smokey eyes
Lips: Red/pink lips

As you can see, the eyes are traditional smokey eyes. I have done a tutorial on them, if you want to check it out, but in a nutshell, I chose a silver colour applied that on the inner corner and a black colour and applied that on the outer corner. Apply eyeliner on the upper and lower lash line, mascara and you're done!

This is the updated look:

As you can see, I blended the eye shadow outward, to achieve an almost 'cat eye' look...which is very appropriate!

Firstly, it's important to apply a base to the eye. I just used Mac paintpot in Painterly. If you have a cream based black eye shadow this would work perfectly too! I applied a neutral brown colour in my crease, to give the make up more dimension as I didn't want it to be just plain black.

I coloured my whole lid in black eye liner and winged it outwards. I then applied black matte eye shadow all over the lid to set the eye liner.

I reapplied the brown colour in the crease area. I lined my waterline and upper lash line and applied black eye shadow on the lower lash line.

By this stage I felt that the make up was a little too dark, so I applied a frosty white eye shadow on the inner corner and white eyeliner along the line where my eyebrows finish. (I thought the white eye liner would be more precise than eye shadow).

In terms of lips, a deep red colour is often preferred, but as I don't have any matte red products, I used Face of Australia in Pink Ambition. It's slightly shimmery, but I feel it created the necessary effect.

I hope you enjoyed this look-it's always fun dressing up! Please let me know if you have any other suggestions for superhero/villain make up-I'd love to do more, so if you have a favourite character let me know! I'll be running out of ideas soon enough haha.

Have a great day and as always there is heaps more to come, so stay tuned!
